“The Juices Have Never Dried Up”: Elton John Promises New Music Despite Recent Health Challenges

Sir Elton John has assured fans that more music is on the horizon, even as he faces the challenges of recent eyesight loss. During a candid appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the legendary musician reflected on his remarkable career and teased upcoming creative projects.

“You will be getting some more (music),” the Rocket Man hitmaker revealed, adding, “The [creative] juices have never dried up, they never want to dry up, because I always want to create things.” The EGOT winner confirmed, “It’s having the space to do it in my own time, and of course, there will be new Elton John music.”

While Elton has officially retired from touring, he spoke fondly about his 55 years of performing around the world. “I love the world tours. I’ve done 55 years of touring. I ended on a high. My voice was great. The piano playing was great. The band was great,” he shared.

However, the Cold Heart singer explained his decision to focus on his family and personal life rather than live performances. “There are other things I want to do with my life that are more important than touring. I’m still going to make records. I’m still going to have a musical future. But I want to be with my boys, and I want to be with David because I love them more than I love touring,” he said, referring to his husband, David Furnish, and their sons, Zachary, 13, and Elijah, 11.

Elton’s last world tour, Farewell Yellow Brick Road, was a monumental journey that stretched from 2018 to 2023, marking the end of an era for the iconic performer. Despite his retirement from the stage, his passion for music remains undiminished, and fans can look forward to new creations from the legendary artist.

Elton John’s commitment to his craft and his family exemplifies his enduring spirit and dedication, even as he navigates health challenges. With the promise of more music, fans worldwide are eagerly anticipating the next chapter in Rocket Man’s extraordinary career.
